Daniele Sparks is a member of the Colville Confederated tribes. She is in her third year of undergrad at the University of Oregon studying data science. She aims to combine her expertise in data science with the expansion of language revitalization projects and services throughout the Pacific Northwest. Joining the Native American and Indigenous Studies Academic Residential Community (NAIS ARC), she was exposed to more broad conversations within acadamia, and ongoing efforts throughout the country regarding Native Sovereignty, cultural, and language preservation. She previously worked in Information Technology for her tribe’s casino in 2023, then within their Player Development department as a data analyst during the summer of 2024. While she is passionate and concerned about working towards a degree that has direct applicability to both her personal and cultural values, she also is extremely passionate about her music and skateboarding. She likes studying flamenco, country, and rock on the weekends. Doubly, street skating in parking garages when the Eugene rain is everlasting.
