A photographer, writer and filmmaker, Torsten is a professor of practice in journalism at UO and works on communications with NILI. He worked at newspapers and freelanced in Minnesota, Indiana, New Mexico, Washington, New York and Oregon; was named "Photographer of the Year" by Pictures of the Year; studied as a Fulbright Scholar in comparative literature and as a John S. Knight Fellow at Stanford University. He likes being outdoors with his wife and their three dogs. He likes snow. He like far northern places. He does not like being indoors.
