Instructor, TBD
This course is intended for students who have taken the introductory linguistics class at NILI or have a similar background in linguistics. In it, students will:
- Learn to make sense of scholarly materials (grammars, dictionaries, narrative texts, stuff from archives) prepared by linguists and others
- Learn how to interpret these primary resources in order to create materials for teaching and learning
- Learn more about how their language conveys information through words and sentences
- Learn to analyze the words of their language and understand how grammar can help anyone trying to write curriculum or materials for a language class
Students should bring any resources they are, or would like to be, using to the first day of class.
